(Special To The Timc-s). OPOTIKI.- May 22. The Mayor, Ur. (1. S. Moody, with five councillors and the- town dork, attended divine service at the Opotiki Methodist Church last night at tho invitation of the Rev. (L R. Peterson, who in welcoming them, said that it was good that men of high Christian ideals should offer their services ro t.heir town hi those difficult and strenuous times. EXCITING TIM*) IN ROW-BOAT. A partv of Opotiki -re-sklents had a narrow escape from capsizing, when crossing the bar in a’n open rowing boat Yesterday through very big breakers coming in. r, ne breaking right over the- heat, almost swamping it. Fortunately, file party were, able to make ilicit- way back to tho beach just inside tho bar.
