Tbo monthly meeting pf. the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday, when Mr. F. R. Hall PlO- - over the following Messrs. T. E. Toneycliffe, R. TV. J• Ec-waids, A L. Mnir. H. F. Forster, O. G. Bloore L. Miles, T r . E. Sanders, R. WillPck, T Corson. T. G. Lawless. L. T. Buvnard, H. H. He Costa. F. Tolerton. \ ft Wilson and W. Hamilton Irvine (lion., sec.) Mr. A. O. Heaitv, secretary of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, advised tliat be would, be passing, through Gisborne on Tuesday next, and suggested u luncheon should be arranged so that be could meat members It was decided to make suitable arrangements for the council of the chamber to meet Mr. Heany at lunch on the day nventioned. Regarding a suggestion., by the chamber that protection should be given to work already carried out on the Gisborue-Xapier . railway, the Commissioner of Unemployment advised that decision on such a matter rested with Cabinet, not with the Unemployment Board.—The letter was received.
