GISBORNE A SSOCIATTON. A NNUAL -MEET! XG. The annual meeting of the Gisborne Boxing Association was li-Tl last evening, the patron. Mr. W. L. Clayton, presiding over an attendance of about thirty members. In commenting on the annual report- and balance-sheet, which have already been published, Lhe president said lie had hoard rumors that the association intended to cease operations until the times improved, but he sincerely hoped that that course would not be followed.
The report and balance-sheet were tlmn adopted. Officers wore elected as follow: — Patron, Mr. W. Lissant Clayton: president, Mr. A. S. Parker: vicepresidents. Messrs. G. H. Scents, and F. W. Nolan; committtee, Dr. IT. Gouldiug Rico and Messrs. GClayton, T. Smale. J. Clayton, W. B. Edwards, D. Graeie. I l ’. J. Jeunc, R. Aislabic, R. Humphreys, P. H. Hamilton, A. Hecney and A. H. Rice lion, medical officers, Drs. D. L. Muir. J. C. Collins, W. A. Bowie and H. Colliding Rice; lion, auditor, Mr M. J. White; lion, masseur, Mr. It. J. Thomson. It was d.aided that the Bert Lowe cup for the most improved boxer over the last three tournaments last season should be awarded to JClayton. At a subsequent meeting of the committee, a proposal to stage a bout between Joe Franklin and Alec Robertson was discussed, and it was decided that a decision should be postponed until the committee had further discussed the matter.
