OLYMPIC CLUB CARNIVAL. UNOFFICIAL RECORD ESTABLISHED The Olympic Swimming. Club held its weekly carnival at the Macliae Baths last evening, when th© attendance was somewhat disappointing, seeing that seven championship events were carded. Some fine, performances were witnessed and some of the • finishes spoke well for the ability, of the: handicapper. The outstanding per.'formance was that of L. Martin, who won the' championship dive and also the ribbon dive. In the latter event, Martin established an unofficial record for . New Zealand, diving over a : height of Bft. 10in., whereas the official record is S feet 6 inches. The entries in the ladies’ events were disappointing, one race being swum, by only one competitor and two others by only two competitors.
