In connection with "the outrage when eight sleeping-free laborers we r e attacked on Tuesday ‘night,-the -poiice to-day arrested Michael Roughan and charged him with committing actual bodily barm to Albert Dick, one of the free laborers, who is- in hospital. ughan was also charged; with being a rogue and a vagabond. Accused was brought before -Mr. "Watson, S.M. The police applied for a till Saturday. '

The Magistrate said that accused was entitled to bail and granted it onat accused’s own recognisance of £SOO and two approved sureties 61 £SO each. Roughan was later released on bail.

Last night the free laborers paraded in a body, and strikers who were on the street quickly dispersed, though a few wore pursued by the free ..laborers. w " There were no incidents.
