iPress Association.. WELLINGTON, .Jan. Jl. A commencement was made to-day with the pairs tournament. The weather was again perfect. An innovation iy the playing of three bowls instead of four. The players agree that the three bowl game is enjoyable, but the opinion is general that the time, two hours, is too short. A considerable proportion had several heads to play when the hell went. The time limit was discussed, and the games this afternoon will be given another quarter of an hour.
.Following is the list of win s of players in. the pairs who have a chivnco of qualifying after the fifth round. Four rounds were played today and there are 16 with four wins each.
