Attempts to reach a trade agreement having failed, Germany and the Argentine will begin a trade war tomorrow. The Argentine has been deleted from the list of favored nations and her goods will be subject to a tariff.
It is expected that Argentina’s reprisal will he a 50 per cent, increase in the duties on German goods.

The White Star Line, in a report, says the insurance collected on the Femdale was insufficient to cover the hook value of the vessel. Provision was made for tlie resulting loss to' the Aberdeen and Commonwealth fleets, whose book value is £2,118,244 which is admittedly in excess of the present value. CHALK FARM MURDER.
