The Senate Judiciary Committee s<lnt |tlio prohibition repeal resolution to the Senate to-day with a favorable report. In a. single session the committee voted almost- unanimously to report the Blaine’s repeal resolution, slightly modified lo limit the rat iff, action period to seven years. The resolution proposes to repeal ihe Eighteenth Amendment, to protect- dry states from shipments nf liquor, and to permit Congress to legislate against the return of the saloon.

The Democratic House leaders today branded the prohibition repeal resolution reported fo ihe Senate as nor, being in conformity vn'ih ihe Democratic platform, and predicted it would not pass the House in its present form.
