The Shah, interviewed by the Bn.tisli United Press through an interpreter, said that the Anglo-Persian Oil Company’s concession was oiiginally obtained render- unfair and ono-sided conditions. “We‘ decided to annul the concession only when hope of settlement of the. serious causes of complaint seem od ended,” be added, “and wbeto w® ■could. no longer ignore our duty to safeguard Persia’s 'interests”. He declared the insinuations that foreign interests were behind the annulment of the concession were false,, and described Britain’s attitude as menacing.
