David Charles McGill, 3S, pleaded guilty to a charge of posing as a member of the police force and also obtaining £3 from a woman by ialsely -representing that he was wir s a detective.
The police; said he told the woman that a relative here had been arrested but the chief detective offered him hi. s liberty .if he would leave immediately for .Auckland. The woman acted before communicating with the police On the false pretences charge accused was fined £5, or one month’s gaol. On the other charge he was convicted and ordered to coine up if called upon. Accused is an old offender.
