MAJESTIC THEATRE

LIFE GOES ON”

‘‘l.ife Gocp On” now at the .Majestic Theatre, is a mystery story interspersed with romance and refreshing comedy. Apart from a brief introductory scene, tho whole action takes placo in a. loading London hotel, and a fine mystery story is enacted within this compass. Although the film deals with. th e . death of a man and the com promising of a woman (Hetty Siockfiold) it is anything but a horror picture. IlngE Wakefield, remembered for a splendid characterisation as l he philandering father in ‘‘Aren’t We. All”, has another well-chosen role to fill as Ridgway Farnsworth, who finds himself ranged alone against a determined clique of conspirators. Ho is chiefly supported hv Elsie Randolph as the telephone operator at the hotel whose penchant for rolling: her "71''s” and flair for inimitable comedy makes an excellent- foil for If.insworth’s shafts. The remaining members of the east, which Betty Stockfieid, ably aids the principals in a production which will undoubtedly advertise itself during its short season here. The supporting programme includes a jazz orchestral selection, entitled “Those Blues’* played by Vincent Lopaz and his orchestra, New s of the World by Overseas and Cinesound Newsreels, “Jimmy's New Yacht”, a Alack Son nett comedy, and a further of the delightful screen souvenirs series, depicting old-time motion picture scenes, and owing to “Red Dust” at the Regent being banned to children under sixteen years, the twelfth and last episode, of “Detective Lloyd”, has been transferred to this theatre for presentation *"• both the 2 p.rn. and 8 p.m. sessions.
