R. W. Cook and, 'E. Gi'ey . . ' The miscellaneous'' section shoAved ,an , improvement in entries, but the roses, although not. as- strong numerically: as last year, were.', better specimens and some fine exhibits Avere seen. ;

The quaiity' of the sAA’eet peas., was very high, stated the judges,' Messrs R. G. Crawford and G. B. : Darton, the ; staging and : placing of the .flowers was yery poor and the judges advised exhibitors : to pay tention to "Thispart ; of the exhibit next year. '. The judges'"of the cooking, Mesdames H. McLernon arid T. B. Spence, stated that the exhibits Avere good, there being little difference between the Avork of the first "two, exhibitors; the Avinner of the cup for most points, Mrs Parsons gaining only one more point than Mrs Gunn.

As AA-as expected the exhibition of fIoAA-ers took .up the greater portion of the hall and the varied and multicolored blooms.made a most effective display. , As both the cups for the miscellaneous and cooking classes have been Avori outright, Mrs W. G.. Sherratt, Avinner of the . former section. has generously donated a cup for the cooking section, for Avhicli the committee are deeply grateful. The .supervising of the SliOAv Avas in the hands of a capable and energetic committee, comprising Messrs F. E. W'ilson (chairman), D. E. Mathieson and H. McFarlane (joint secretaries), A. Pirie and A. Thompson, Avho are to be complimented, on the staging of the exhibits for judging and the general appearance of the hall. Troubles open for competition," displayed in a prominent position, made a fine array and included eight cups and rose boAvls, as avcll as other handsome trophies.

In the evening a dance was held in 'ho hall. Avhcn the prizes aa-oh durmg the day AA-ere presented hv Mr F. Tolerton.
