WESTFIELD MARKETS. (Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 7. At Westfield ox beef was penned in less than the average numbers, the bulk of which comprised well finished lines. Competition was fairly steady throughout, the market- being especially firm for well-finished lightweight cattle. One truck of priime 1 Hillocks sold at £l4 to £lB 10s, another truck of bullocks realising £l4 17s 6d to £l6. Cow beef was short yarded and the market was very firm on last week’s quotations. Extrachoice ox sold to 45s per 100-lbs., prime young cow and lieifer beef 40s. Fat sheep were penned in less than average numbers. Competition was steady, and the prices realised wefe on a par with last week. Extra heavy priime wethqrs, shorn, made £1 18s 3d; heavy prime £1 16s 6d; medium £1 12s fid; heavy prime ewes, shorn, £1 19s fid, lighter £1 4s 6d, other ewes £1 2s 9d.
