FIRES
THREE ‘SHOPS AND OFFICE BURNED. (Press Association.; LEVIN, Oct. 8. A serious fire occurred late on Saturday night in premises occupied by Ince and Co., draper G. D. Hamilton, accountant, V. Henderson, tailor, and Miss Williams, dressmaker, the three latter occupying the first floor. The fire had a strong hold when the alarm was given, and though confined to the block where it originated the stocks and buildings were a total loss. Hie insurances, on Ince’s stock were £.5000, and on the fittings a £SVU in the South British office; and on Hamilton’s office furniture £IOO in the British Traders. The building belonged to the Stiles and Matheson estate.?, and was insured for £3OOO in the British Traders. The other tenants were not insured. The cause of the outbreak is unknown.
