RAID ON CHINESE.
GAMING HOUSE KEEPERS AND FREQUENTERS FINED (Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 8. Further Iproisecuffions 'in connection with the police raid on Chinese gaming premises were conducted in the-Magistrate’s Court at Wellington this morning, Wee Kee Fan (34), Hedly Louis (30), Low Dung (71), Sam Chong (40), all pleaded guilty to keeping a common gaming house. I'an and Bung were each fined £2o,' in default three months’ imprisonment, Louis and Chong were fined £lO in default six weeks’ gaol. Another raid, was conducted to-day George Ohipperfield (34), James Kavanagh (48), and William John Baker (52), pleaded guilty to being found in a common gaming house and were each fined £2 and costs. The fourtli man, a Chinese, alleged to bo the keeper of the house, will appear to-morrow.
