IRRITATING WAR REGULATIONS
MAY RE REPEALED. (Received Jan. 3, 5.55 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 3. Several irritating war regulations which survived under the name of D'.O.R.A, generally cartooned as an interfering old woman, may he removed under the recommendation of ui Departmental Committ'ee, which favors tlio sale of cigarettes and tobacco in shops until 9.30 in the evening instead of eight o’clock, also the salo of tobacco and. sweets in theatres cinemas and public houses,so long as they are open. The committee, however, recommends that the compulsory early closing of shops generally he embodied in. permanent legislation.—A, and' N.Z.C.A.
