SUPPLY OF POISONS
INCONSISTENCY OF LAW. FLORISTS CAN SELL WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS. TIMARU, Jan. 25. The inquest on Caroline Mary Wilson showed that the deceased endeavored to secure poison from three chemists, but without success. She then went to a florist and secured a carton of Black Leaf poison, saying she required it for chrysanthemums. _ On returning home she drank the poison, and death followed soon after. A verdict that deceased died of suicide by poison self-administered was returned, the Coroner commenting on the inconsistency of a- law which permitted florists and others to sell poison without restriction, while chemists' were properly required to comply with the regulations under the Poisons Act.
