LONDON SENSATION
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE LX LAW COURTS.

LONDON, July 30.
A sensation occurred in the Law Courts in The Strand wheni Henri Dupain, a Belgian soldier, shot himself in the head and fell on a seat in the corridor, crying “Aly wife! My wife!”
Dupain was defendant in an action wherein his wife was claiming annulment of the conveyance of a farm which Dupain procured by cruelty and threats. The wife, in evidence, caul she lived on a lonely farm. Her husband kept a gun in the bedroom and put a hatchet in the bed ; She and her children had been hiding since November.
-As the case was closing and it was evident that he had lost, Dupain left the Court and attempted to suicide. The first report to the Court was that defendant was dead, and Mr. Justice Tomlin stopped the ease, giving judgment in the wife’s favor when it was later learned that the man was in hospital and had a chance of recovery.
