POLICEMAN'S DEATH
MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE AGAINST AIOTORIST.
AUCKLAND, May 6. At. the criminal sessions of the Supreme Court to-day Mr Justice Stringer reviewed the charge of manslaughter against John Andrew Fox, arising from the death of a policeman uftned Todd, who, with accused and another man, was returning front a (lance, to Onehunga, wdien the car collided with a Chinaman's cart. His Honour said the) evident-e would show that Fox was driving in a reckless fashion. The _ Chinaman’s cart, was on its proper side of the road. Evidently they had driven to Papakura to get a supply of liquor, returning to Auckland early in the morning. They seemed to have made -boasts of themselves* There would be little difficulty in establishing a prima facie case against Fox.
