A beer boycott lias begun in the dockland of London. One million transporters have gone “dry” and entered into a solemn league and covenant not to drink until the price is reduced. Every bar was desolate in dockland to-day except foi a few martyrs eating sandwiches to the accompaniment of tea, coffee, and cocoa.

Mr- Bevin, dockers secretary, as trying to make the boycott’ effective throughout the country, but thus far there has been little success in the provinces.
