MISSING CANASTOTA.
WRECKAGE OFF LORD HOWE ISLAND. DOES NOT TALLY WITH CARGO. (Received Aug. 9. 7.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 9. The steamer Matambo has arrived. The captain reports that he thoroughly searched the wreckage sighted off Lord Howe Island, but the markings thereon did not tally with the Oanastota’s cargo.—U.P.A.
