AMSTERDAM, July 2. King Carl’s statement that he is in favor of peace as soon as possible is due to party leaders’ urgent warning that there will be a revolution unless peace is attained in 1917.
RIOTS AT DUSSELDORF
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. AMSTERDAM, July 2. Semi-official: Women and youths pillaged food shops at Dusseldorf. Many, aliens, including Belgians and Russians, have been arrested for 'participating. The rioters were courtmartialled and sentenced to six years’ servitude.
