At the stud sheep sales the demand for merinos was firm and steadily maintained. ' ; No fancy figures were recorded, though the rates wore materially better than last year. There" was an exceedingly keen demand for. British .breeds at record prices. . , New Zealand lots of Border Leicester's, on behalf of Messrs. Dowthwaite, Nixon, Rennie, and Sutherland, /ranged from five to fifty guineas. Corriedales, on behalf of Mr. Ensor, ranged from nine to 72§ guineas. .
