THE LEAGUE'S CONFERENCE. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received March 8. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 8. There are 1500 delegates to the Tariff Reform League's conference. Mr Austen Chamberlain, in a letter, said he regretted the Unionist party’s changed attitude, but they must do the best possible with the present programme. Speaking at a banquet, Mr Chamberlain predicted the early return of a Government who would establish a special preference which, once established, no early power could shake.
