PASSED BACK TO AUSTRALIA. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The oharge against Chris Whelan, of setting firs to St. Joseph’s Church, in Buckle street, has been withdrawn by the police. Sub Inspector O'Donovan Btated that accused wa3 not in his right mind when he committed the act, and his psople had agreed to take him back to Australia.
