SHEEP DOG TRIALS.

The Poverty Bay Shaop Dog Trial Club commenced their twelfth annual meeting at Messrs Bruce and Neenan’s grounds, Ormond, yesterday. The weather was all that oould be desired, and thore was a large attendance. The arrangements for tho trials were well planned, the Secretary, Mr C- Hollier Evans, assisted by a strong committee, having every detail in perfect order. Mr Jas Russell ac'ed as judge, and Mr R. B. Dasent timekeeper. Cla'ses I 1 and 2 were completed, the prize in both classes going to Mr R. Stewart's Jade, Dick belonging to the same team getting second place in both classes. Class 3 was I oommeooed, and has not been completed, I fourteen oompet'tors having been given their turn. The trials will be continued to day and to-morrow. The following are the results :
