ADDINGTON MARKET.

PRICES FULLY MAINTAINED. By Telegraph-Press Association— Christchurch, last night.

Thero was a moderate entry at the Addington market t-o-day, and a good attendance of buyers.

Fat cattle : 258 head wero yarded, comprising a good proportion of prime stoers. Tho sale opened quietly, but gained in strength as the market proceeded, and last week’s prices wero maintained. Steers sold from £8 to £lB 10s, heifers £6 15s to £l3 ss, cows £6 15s to £l3 ; beef realised from 35s to 38s per IOOIbs for prime quality and 30s to 34s for medium and inferior.

Fat sheep : The entry was smaller than usual, and included very few prime lines, tho bulk consisting of small unfinished sorts. Prices all round showed a reduction on tho previous week’s rates. Prime wethers sold from 25s to 80s, light and unfinished 18s lOd to 28s 7d, merino 15s lid to 21s, best owos 19s Id to 28s Od, lighter 14s 9d .to 18s Bd, wethers and ewes 17s to 255.

Fat hoggets : 500 wore entered, and sold readily at prices ranging from 14s to 17s

Fat pigs : There was a good entry and steady demand at late rates. Baconors sold from 45s to 70s, equal to 5d per lb, porkers 80s to 425, equal to s*d per lb.
