THE NEW ZEALAND MATCH AND PROFITS. [BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, last night. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council it was decided that all expenses in connection with the New Zealand match should be borne by the Council, and that any profit should bo the property of the Council ; also that any profit made by tho Council on the tour should be divided among the Associations in proportion to their guarantee. WEST END v. WHATAUPOKO.

The Thursday competition was continued in glorious weather on Victoria Domain yosterday afternoon, when the above Clubs mot. Though the wicket was good, the exhibition of batting was below concert pitch, the bowlers holding the upper-hand throughout the afternoon. A glance at the analysis will show that some fino bowling performances were recorded. Plimmer, for West End, followed up his good work with the ball of last Saturday by securing four wickets for 6 runs in the first innings yesterday and five for 6 in the second innings, thus bagging nine wickets for 12 runs —a fine performance. Hodge, who was heartily welcomed on making his reappearance, also bowled well for West End, whilo Garrett and Cederwall came out with fine figures for Whataupoko. The game ended in a win for West End by 23 runs on the first innings. The scores were : West End— lst innings.
