IMPORTING INDIAN COOLIES TO FIJI.

Mr Barton, in reply, to a question, said be was not aware that the Colonial Sugar Company was introducing a largo number of Indian coolies to Fiji. If such was the caso it might raise difficulty for the Commonwealth in tho future when dealing with the control of Fiji and other Pacific Islands. He intended to take ovor New Guinea first before dealing with Fiji. The Kanaka Bill has passed through Committee unamended.
