THE WRECKED BARQUE

A SECRET INQUIRY

[By Telegraph—Press Association.]

Dunedin, last night. An inquiry was held to day by Mr Chamberlain, Collector of Customs, into the circumstances connected with the stranding of the Italian barque Antioco Accaiue. The inquiry was not open. One representative of the syndicate who purchased tho barque went on board last night, and furled the sails and made all taut. The barque has from 13ft to 10ft ol water in her, and does not appear to have bedded herself more than a foot in tho sand, as the water ebbs and flows very slowly. The holes in the bottom aro not thought to be very large, and with tine weather the syndicate anticipate having the barque in port in a week.
