WAIROA SUGGESTIONS FOR AMENDMENT OF THREE RUGBY LAWS

(Special) WAIROA, July 26. At last night’s meeting of the Wairoa Rugby Sub-union it was decided, in reply to inquiry from-the Hawke’s Bay Union as to remits on alterations to the laws of the game, to suggest that the twu-threc-two scrum be reverted to with the conditions that no player be allowed to advance beyond the centre line of the scrum until the ball is hooked and that the referee put the ball into all scrummages. It was decided also to suggest an amendment to provide that the ball must touch the ground following a knock-on before a breach may be ruled.

A third recommendation was for a reversion to the throw-in from touch opposite the point where the ball had last been played, or had touched the ground in the field of play.
