DWELLING IN RIVERSIDE ROAD SOLD AT £3OOO

The first house auction- to be conducted in Gisborne since the lifting of restrictions took place at Riverside Road yesterday when a six-roomed dwelling and four acres 32 perches of land sold under the hammer for £3OOO. The house, owned by Mr. T. A. N. Corson, was put up for auction during the course of a pedigree dairy herd dispersal. It was an unencumbered property just beyond the borough boundary and was connected with the borough water supply. It was stated that a builders valuation of the house was £2400. Bidding started at £2OOO and went lrom £2BOO to £2950 in £SO rises. After two more £25 bids it was knocked down at £3OOO.
