KAHUTIA BOWLING CLUB OFFICERS: KEEN INTEREST
Much interest has been evident during the past week in the election of officers for the Kahutia Bowling Club, and nominations received ensure a good attendance at the annual meeting on Saturday evening, when the election will be conducted.
There is one nomination only for the post of president, that of Mr. W. Jackson, a former holder of the office. The hon. secretary, Mr. E. Esquilant, and the hon. treasurer, Mr. R. Connop, also are returned unopposed. There are, however, two nominations for the post of vice-president—those of Messrs. J. A. Booth and E. R. Seale—and 12 nominations for seven seats on the executive.
Of last year’s committee, Messrs. H. Jackson. P. Meredith, P. SheppardWilson and J. Hitchcock are not seeking re-election. The remaining committeemen from last year are included in the following list of nominations for the new season:—Messrs. FI. Crawford, T. O'Donnell, W. Harnett. A. Hearle, P. Habib. G. Hookham. G. McKessar, W. Newcomb. R. Payne, N. Russell. E. Tasker, and T. Wells. Under the rules of the club, nominations for the post of hon. auditor are not receivable until the night of the annual meeting. Mr. T. Ellis held that office through the past year. ,
