MEDICAL STAFF APPOINTMENT AT COOK HOSPITAL
The appointment of a full-time anaesthetist at the Cook Hospital has been approved by the Minister of Health, in principle, and the Cook Hospital Board has been given permission to advertise the position as one carrying the status of senior registrar or junior specialist. The status designated governs the salary which can be offered to prospective applicants, in accordance with a scale fixed by the Health Department for various classes of medical appointees.. The finance committee recommended to the board meeting yesterday that the position of full-time anaesthetist be advertised immediately.
Another appointment dealt with in the committee’s report was that of bacteriologist-in-charge at the Cook Hospital. The committee recommended that Mr. Miles Ekdahl, B.Sc., 8.A., be appointed to this post, which shortly will be vacated by Mr, W. Carruthers. The commencing salary for Mr. Ekdahl will be £7OO per annum.
