AERO CLUB COMMENCES NIGHT FLYING TRAINING
Believed to be the second club in New Zealand to do so, the Gisborne Aero Club commenced night flying on Saturday evening, following permission from the Air Department and the availbility of a full emergency flare path. This programme has been brought down for club members and A.T.C. cadets to enable them to further their training, and they are looking forward to the experience, which for most of them will be entirely new. They will be flying with the club’s instructor. Saturday night's operations were confined to landings anud take-offs, and it is hoped to continue them each Saturday. So far only one of the club’s two Tiger Moths has been equipped with naevigationa Rights but: it is hoped to have the other ready for use shortly.
