Triple Title-Winner In North Is. Croquet
(P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ Jan. 17. Mrs. W. N. Corbett, .of Hamilton, yesterday won her third title in the North Island croquet tournament when she defeated Mrs, F. C. Bryan (Lower Hutt) in the final of the women’s championship at the Manawatu greens, having won the open championship and the doubles, the latter with Mrs. M. Hawken, last week in the first game. Mrs, Corbett had a decisive victory over her opponent with the score 26-2, but in the second game Mrs. Bryan Elayed excellent croquet, making a reak of 10. Mrs. Corbett was the more consistent with her long shots, however, and the game and match finished in her favour, 26-18.
