B. THOMSON’S DOUBLE CYCLING SUCCESS

Half a wheel separated the first two placed riders in an 18-mile circuit road race held by the Gisborne Amateur Cycling Club at Makaraka on Saturday afternoon. The winner. B. Thomson, also gained fastest time. Six cyclists covered the course, which was of six laps. The result was:— 18-Mile Road Race.—B. Thomson (3min. 30sec.), 1; G. Sutton (3min. 30sec.), 2; J. Parker (9min. 30sec.), 3. Fastest time, B. Thomson, 55min. 59sec. The club is indebted to Mr. and Mrs. Foster, of the Roscland Hotel, for the donation of trophies and for the providing of refreshments.
