Bursaries Planned For N.Z. Students Of Physiotherapy
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. The Minister of Health, Aliss M. Howard, said today that to encourage persons to take up physiotherapy training, the Cabinet had approved of an offer of a bursary to physiotherapy students who undertook that, on qualifying they would accept employment with a hospital board or the Department of Health for a specified period. The normal course of training covers two years ar.u eight months, including holidays.
Bursaries are to be worth £7O yearly for up to three years, plus a boarding allowance of £4O yearly lor two years. Students who receive a bursary for the full period will be required to give two years of service after qualifying. The period of service will be reduced proportionately if the term of the bursary is less than three years.
