OLD BOYS (A) RETAIN WHITE CUP
Old Boys (A), Gisborne, retained the White Cup on their own ground on Saturday when they drew with Technical Old Boys, of Napier, in a junior fixture which is played annually between the clubs. The score was 11-all.
The cup has been held by the Gisborne team for the past two years, and they would have been unlucky had they lost it on Saturday. Old Boys (A) actually played better than their opponents in a very entertaining game, which had nearly as good a gallery as the main fixture between Possibles and Probables on tire No. 1 ground. For Old Boys (A) tries were scored by R. Henderson and R. Stevenson and D. McKenzie converted one and kicked a penalty goal. For the Napier team, M. Hammond" and T. Fields scored tries, D. Tombs converted one and kicked a penalty goal. The referee was Mr. M. Traue,
