SIR ANDREW RUSSELL, who is paying a short visit to Gisborne, is spending the week-end with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Russell, Ngatapa. He will return to Hawke's Bay early next week.
MR lAN CAMPBELL, manager of the King's Theatre, leaves Gisborne next week for three weeks holiday in Auckland. Mr. Leo Kenney, Auckland, will relieve him.
MR. A. T. ROBINSON, Otago, was elected president of the New eZaland Bakers and Pastrycooks' Federation at the annual conference in Auckland yesterday. He succeeds Mr. J. A. Connon, Auckland, who retired automatically. Mr. G. A. Carter, Wanganui-Taranaki, was elected vice-president. The following were elected to the council: Mr. H. R. Hardie, representing, ManawatuSouthern Hawke’s Bay-Wairarapa, Mr. F. H. Debrecency, Wellington, Mr. F. H. Hawker, Canterbury, Mr. R. A. Craighead, West Coast of the South Island, Mr. T. H. MR. W. G. ROBINSON, elder son of Mr, and Mrs. C. E. Robinson, Gisborne, who for some years has been with the well-known wool-buying firm of C. G. Prevost and Company, Limited, Wellington, is to leave on May 19 by air for London. This will be the first stage of a six months’ working tour which will include visits to several Continental countries, the United Kingdom and the United States, during which Mr. Robinson will familiarise himself with the wool types used chiefly in the respective national wool industries. He is to return to New Zealand towards the end of the year.^
