CONVERSION OF BICYCLE

Pleading guilty to the unlawful conversion of a bicycle in Gisborne on Tuesday, Mac Taylor, an 18-year-old Maori youth, Waihirere, was fined £5 when he appeared before Messrs. M. Doyle and S. D. Nathan, J.P.s, in the Police Court yesterday.

Prosecuting, Sergeant D. M. Campbell said that Taylor had taken the machine from an alleyway in the town. When seen by Constable E. D. Jones, Taylor was wheeling the bicycle down Lowe street and had removed the lamp from it. The lamp had later been recovered.
