PROBATION GRANTED AFTER CHARGE OF FALSE PRETENCES
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 9. Ernest William Wakefield, aged 61, a storeman, was admitted to probation for three years when he appeared for sentence in the Supreme Court today before Mr. Justice Cornish for obtaining £350 under false pretences by offering to supply a quantity of liquor owned by the Masterton Licensing Trust.
