LIFE-SAVING SERVICES
Sir.—On Sunday, March 13, there will be the Waikanae Beach life saving competitions between local and visiting teams. There is no question as to the value of this fine and noble service, after the many incidents and especially what was' almost a tragedy a week ago. Were it not for the fine team work of' these splendid fellows and their untiring attention to their exercises, several fatalities could and would have happened in the past. It would be heartening and pleasing if the general public would attend the beach. It .would, I am sure, be very much appreciated. Let’s hope to see a good response. / CITIZEN.
