Food Poisoning Cases Occur At Wairoa Hospital
Eleven cases of food-poisoning are in isolation at the Wairoa Hospital, following an outbreak in which staff and patients of the hospital were affected last Friday.
Investigations are continuing to ascertain the cause of the trouble, which look a mild effect. None to f the people concerned was seriously il, and all are now recovering.
As soon as the outbreak developed, early on Friday, stringent precautions against an extension of the trouble were taken by the hospital superintendent and the Health Department’s office in Gisborne was notified. Officers of the department instituted an investigation immediately, and the sufferers were "laced in isolation for intensive treatment The outcome of ihe investigation is not yet known.
