BARTON’S FOLLIES STILL POPULAR : BIG PANTO AUDIENCE

The outstanding success of the opening performance of Barton's Follies in their Peel street tent-show season undoubtedly had its reflection in attendances on Saturday, when the company presented a regular evening performance and a pantomime on the theme of the “Sleeping Beauty” to an enraptured audience at the afternoon session.

Once again Jandy proved the principal attraction for adults and juveniles alike, his antics and general drollery keeping the audiences in a most hilarious mood, and adult patrons being deeply impressed by the polish and timing of an act which involves the most complete mastery of comic action. Almost hidden beneath the clown’s fun-making is a quality of physical coordination which the years have ripened to a degree which permits him to accomplish feats of strength and balance quite beyond the powers of most young men.

Miss Carolini’s remarkable agility and nerve were again demonstrated in spectacular trapeze performances, and Clarissa’s contortionist act left many patrons wondering whether. she was truly a “boneless wonder.” The remainder of the company, supported by a well-balanced orchestra, lived fully up to expectations. The season will be continued this evening.
