MRS. R. ALLWOOD

OBITUARY

A resident of Whatatutu for practically the whole of her life, and a hightly respected member of the community, Mrs Margaret All wood died in the Cook Hospital on Sunday.

Mrs. Allwood, who was born at Whatatutu, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tait- She was married in Gisborne to Mr. Allwood and the couple set up residence in the district. Until the last few months Mrs. Allwood bad enjoyed good health. She was well-liked in the community and took a keen interest in her home. Mr. Allwood survives his wife, while there are also three daughters and four sons—Mrs. W. D. Dolman, Hexton, Mrs. Maurice Trafford, Waiohika, Mrs. Ray Donald, Bay. Messrs. Alfred and John Alhvood, Gisborne, Mr. Tom Allwood, Wellington, and Mr Jim Allwood, Tolaga Bay. There are also 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Redwood, Whatatutu, is a sister of the deecased, while two brothers, Messrs. William and Frederick Tait. predeceased her. A service will be held in Cochrane’s chapel. Williams street, at 1.45 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral leaving for the Taruheru cemetery.
