Police Alleged Forged “Tote” Tickets At Franklin Races
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 7. “It is alleged that forged totalisator tickets were passed at the Pukekohe races on Saturday.” This remark was made to Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., today by SeniorDetective Finlay when Heath Ernest Liny/ood, aged 36 . carpenter, was charged with attempting to steal £sl 14s. The defence counsel applied for bail. The magistrate granted bail in two sureties of £IOO each, conditional on the accused reporting each evening at the detective office.
