SEEMING LACK OF MOTIVE FOR WAIROA KILLING
(S R.) WAIROA, Dec. 21 Despite the fact that the police centred in Wairoa worked well into the night it was again stated this morning that there had been no further develop ments in the Brunton case. Yesterday a police party again visited the Gisborne district.
A large number of police were again employed yesterday scouring the area of land near the whare for any possible clue.
The apnarent absence of motive and the possibility that murder was not premeditated add to the difficulties ot the investigation The funeral of the deceased yesterday was attended by representative? of the Police Department and Mr. Brunton’s family. Should all members of the police force at present engaged remain over Christmas a number of holiday bookings at the three Wairoa hotels may have to be cancelled.
