13 Die In Fire After Buses Collide
SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 19. Thirteen persons were killed and between 40 and 50 injured when two buses collided and caught-fire on the western Utah highway today. Thirty-five of the injured are in hospital. One bus developed a skid and crashed sideways into an oncoming bus. Frantic passengers broke the windows to escape when fire broke out. It was some hours before the fire was subdued and the bodies recovered. One of the buses was taking a number of servicemen to their homes for Christmas. Five of them perished.
