PROGRESS IN WOMEN’S BOWLS TITLE PLAY
Ten teams took part in Saturday afternoon's play on the green of the Gisborne Riverside Women's Bowling Club Interest was again shown in the Short Callengc Buttons. Mesdamos E. Blair and A. Kelly, the holders, were again successful, retaining the buttons against Mesdames Burch and Bavly. Results of club games were as follows: —Mesdames Griggs, Crack, Coker (s) 21 d. Mesdames Wells, Burrows, Turbitt (s' 18; Mesdames Nicholson, Wilkinson. Harries, Lloyd (s) 29 d. Mesdames Rowley. Harnett, E. Corbett, P. Mackay (s) 11; Mesdames Webster, Harris, Robertson, Short (s) 19 d. Mesdames Lunken, Henderson, G. Corbett, Fischbach (s) 16; Mesdames Adams, Tennent, Ballantyne (s) 18 d. Mesdames Baker, Ivess, Davy (s) 17; Mesdames Watts, Royds, Jenkins (s) 22; Mes dames McGaviston, Pvke, Sangwell (s) 11. Play in the third round of the championship singles resulted: —Mrs. Fischbach d. Mrs. Forbes: Mrs. Gilgren d Mrs. Short; Mrs. Sheppard-Wilson d. Mrs. Crack; Mrs. Sangwell d. Mrs. Blair; Mrs. Elliott d. Mrs. Patty; Mrs. Hanna d. Mrs. Lloyd; Mrs. Galloway d. Mrs. Mackay.
